Photo A Day: Week Eight

Day 049: Colorful toes and colorful beach towels.

Day 050: More lilikoi drinks with my favorite mama and her favorite spot.

Day 051: A few photos from a day of driving around the island, eating, and watching surfers at Pipeline.

Day 052: Messy beach hair for my last day on the island. I had such a great time being home.

Day 053: Thursday I got back in Seattle, which I adore even when it's cloudy.

Day 054: It's crazy to me how much colorful workout clothes can motivate me to get to the gym.

Day 055: Snagged this sweet mug from my favorite spot, Target clearance, which was perfect timing because I've been chugging tea trying to fight off a cold for days now.

Daily Photo: Week Seven

Surprise, I'm home! I got the opportunity to take a spontaneous trip back home, which I haven't been able to do in over a year so I'm really stoked to share some photos.

Day 043: Travel time! I caught the light rail for the first time, which seems crazy even to me. It's so easy!

Day 044: Breakfast with my mom featuring a pancake flight. If you've never had Liliokoi Pancakes, holy moly get some right now.

Day 045: Orange Blueberry Mojitos out in the backyard.

Day 046: Lots of goofing around with this munchkin.

Day 047: Tropical margaritas? Yes, please.

Day 048: Acai bowls are one thing that I love love and can't seem to really find when I'm not in Hawaii. Acai smoothies are everywhere and while they're great, they don't quite fill the void of a bowl packed with fruit, granola, and honey.

Paradise

I got to go home for a week and a half and it was great. I love living in Washington but I definitely miss my family and the paradise that I got to grow up in. Here is a recap of my trip in some of my favorite photos!
One of the best things about being back with my mom is that I always have someone to join me for coffee!

The food... Oh, the food.

The house we stayed at had the perfect view, a perfectly placed hammock, and a perfect wicker swing bench. I am in love with that bench. I read on it, napped on it, and admired the sail boat pattern of the cushion. I want it on my porch.

Mornings.

I have adorable little cousins and an adorable little brother.

Also these brothers...

And this crazy side of the family.

Did I mention the food?

I miss you already, Hawaii.

Oh, and I can't forget this bad quality photo of me and the best mom in the world at Legally Blonde The Musical!
Seriously, she's the best.

North Shore Collection

Lately I have been feeling a bit home sick. This always tends to happen when I get really stressed out. I just miss the comfort of having family nearby, the wonderful food that Hawaii has, and the sand beneath my feet. My favorite place in the whole world (that I have explored so far) is...

The North Shore of my beautiful home island of Oahu. It is a really laid back area with amazing beaches and some of the best food around. I have a ton of pictures from going there so many times over the years; so I dug through my library and put together a collection of some of my favorites.

A day at Pipeline with 25+ foot waves.

My best friend at Aoki's shave ice. A lot of people go to Matsumoto's because it is known as the "first shave ice" spot, but I like Aoki's better. Plus it's right next door and there's always a shorter line!

The last three pictures are all taken at Waialua Bakery. Their sandwiches are great and their smoothies are even better!

My other best friend flipping of of the rock at Waimea Bay. As I am sure you can tell from the way she is positioned in this photo she took a pretty mean belly flop on this one. It knocked the wind out of her and everyone on the beach gasped as she hit the water.

My wonderful mother at my favorite spot to eat on the North Shore, Grass Skirt Grill. They have the BEST fish burgers and regular burgers, so I've heard. I tend to avoid red meat so I've never had one.

My surf bum father!

Of course I could not leave out my favorite little guy. He was trying to catch some fish with his handy dandy net.

If you ever travel to Oahu, make sure you visit the North Shore. It's such an amazing area and I miss it everyday.
